Description du service

Teacher and studio owner Catalina welcomes you to this hands-on pottery course, spanning one weekend, designed to immerse you deeply in the art of working with clay. 🔅 PROGRAM 🔅 This course is both playful and informative, introducing you to the fundamental steps of the hand-building process. Through various exercises, you will explore the evolving textures of clay, learn how to work with them, and how to assemble them using slip. You will discover three ancestral hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling, and slabbing. You will create a pottery vessel using each technique, then refine and 'sculpt' your pieces at the "leather hard" stage to finally add unique details to give your pieces their own personality and charm. The course will be conducted in English. Please note that this course does not include the potter's wheel technique. We offer a separate introductory course for that, recommended after this hand-building course. 🔅 PRICE 🔅 🔸 The price includes all materials and firings ("baking" of clay) for the vessels you create during the weekend. 🔸 The time to glaze your work is not included in the weekend fee (see the 'Glazing' section below). 🔅 SMALL GROUP 🔅 This introductory course welcomes a maximum of 8 pairs of hands, ensuring personalized guidance. 🔅 AFTER THE COURSE 🔅 Upon completing this course, you can join our studio members' community and continue working on your projects during our weekly member sessions with a Membership Pass (more info on our website). Please note that you cannot take your pieces home at the end of the weekend! The ceramic process has several steps, so patience is key. 😉 🔅 GLAZING 🔅 Approximately 10 days after the weekend, your work will have been fired at 950°C and ready for glazing. Here are your options: 🔸 If you haven't glazed in our studio, sign up for a Glazing Intro Class (more info in our "Intro Courses" menu). 🔸 If you've already been introduced to glazing, book a table during a Member Session (with or without a Membership Pass). 🔸 We can glaze your work for you with a glossy transparent glaze for €5 per piece. ⚠️ TERMS AND CONDITIONS ⚠️ 🔸 Please ensure you can attend both dates of the course, as it is a process. The classes are usually full, so we cannot move participants between sessions. 🔸 If you can't complete your work during the course hours, you may continue working on your pieces during member opening hours by booking a table. This is not included in the course fee.
